AI Is No Longer a Feature. It Is Becoming Infrastructure.

There was a time when software teams asked, “Should we add AI?” That question already feels dated.

The better question now is: where should AI sit in the system?

For years, AI was treated like a smart add-on. A chatbot here. A recommendation engine there. A bit of automation in the background. Useful, but not central.

That is changing.

The opportunity is massive. So is the engineering responsibility.

The next phase of AI adoption will not be about who adds the flashiest chatbot. It will be about who can make AI boring, dependable, governed, monitored, and useful every day.

That is when it becomes real infrastructure.
